pensivehare replied to your post: pensivehare replied to your post: I can’t reply to… Oh, actually keeping lists is a good idea. I’ll definitely do that when I have to get rid of some of the books I’ve hoarded over the years! It’s easier than trying to keep a record on online personal library sites, which is what I first considered doing! I wanted to backdate and that required a...

Do the stars of the movies come and sit next to you and share their snacks with you? Because if they don’t, that pricing is ridiculous.

Since today has turned out to be a day of talking about books a lot, I am going to continue on that theme: I want to read more science fiction books. I am actually extremely poorly versed in the genre for all that I enjoy it so. Pls share with me your book recommendations, maybe also w/ summary of MAIN SCI-FI ASPECTS (e.g. morality of robots, time travel…). I’m not especially picky...

Did you know there’s a cinema you can go to that will charge you almost £30 for a single ticket even though it’s situated less than two minute’s walk from three other, normal-priced cinemas? There is. I found that out today. What an amazing world.

pensivehare replied to your post: I can’t reply to your post for some reason, but “The Abandoned” by Paul Gallico sounds like the book you’re looking for? :) Ah, glad I could help! I know that feeling - I’ve spent hours googling obscure books from my childhood and mostly don’t even end up re-reading them, I just like to know that I could if I wanted to. Exactly! I’ve started keeping lists...

I’d gone into the National Gallery out of the rain and was sitting there consciously having to restrain myself from making faces and usually I’m pretty straight-faced all the time on my own, reading books or watching TV or whatever, but there was gurning going on. ...
