Why I love all the Doctors
janeturenne:
a photo essay
1: Because he’s adorable when embarrassed, he’s always learning and growing, and he’s still very much a Time Lord. Because he’s got precisely the reverse of Matt Smith going on: he’s young by the standards of his own species but old by ours, and it creates the most fascinating dynamic.
2: Because he’s kind, considerate, demonstrative, loving, whimsical, playful...
If there’s ever been a post I’m happy to have cloggin’ up my dashboard, it’s that photo essay on the Doctors (assorted).
It’s all up in my face right now and I’m quite content about it

I am always impressed by how consistently unhelpful university websites and online forms are! If that was what they were aiming for, they have succeeded, and since it’s all so thorough I can only assume it is what they were aiming for.
Well done, site administrators. Well done.

‘The Monocled Mutineer’ is really really good. But it has stamped on my very soul. With, you know, proper, heavy stamping boots.
If I’d been watching on my own I would’ve gone to pieces.
That was the opposite of what I wanted to happen

sunmono said: Wait, there’s a documentary on John Lennon narrated by Paul McGann? WHERE? I WANT. It’s like my two favorite things in one! :D
I think it was on a BBC channel last night! I can’t be any more help than that though - I tuned in halfway through and stopped...

I have little to no interest in John Lennon and was planning to go to bed but this documentary is being narrated by Paul McGann.
I’m pretty sure I could be made to sign up to anything if Paul McGann narrated my indoctrination.

I swear to god / the painfully indifferent universe, if ‘The Monocled Mutineer’ ends with McGann’s character dying I am going to lose it good and proper, tears and distress everywhere.
Might have to do a pre-emptive watch without other people around.
Just get out of the country Percy, leg it, aaaahh

ALSO
Just to vent here
Earlier my mother and I were joking about my decision to eat yellow peppers AND sweetcorn with my dinner (but not both at once, obvs) and this culminated in her putting on the ‘now now I’m a good parent’ voice, which is a proper thing I can identify her doing, and saying “You’re the boss of you and what you eat!”
So you didn’t...

I’ve just watched the first episode of ‘The Monocled Mutineer’, feat. a certain Paul McGann, which has been described to me as a comedy. “Oh good,” thought I, “I’m in the mood for some laughs!”
No. No.
There’s a huge long scene in h’which McGann’s character is made to sit up with a man who’s due to get executed for cowardice...
I should probably stop being surprised that I’m always surprised by the things this show does. It has happened a good five or six episodes in a row.
Count that as a more eloquent version of a lot of keysmashes.
