I don’t know a lot about the world in which I live but if I think about it closely enough I get very impressed by everything I am familiar with
For instance: clouds. Can you believe those things? They’re far out
Do you guys also remember that short movie some company made by manipulating atoms? About a boy who found an atom and played with it? Using actual atoms?? I remember that short movie. I wake up in the middle of the night yelling “SOMEBODY MADE A SHORT MOVIE USING ATOMS JUST BECAUSE THEY COULD”. I wake up in the middle of the night yelling about a lot of things which I feel blur the line between reality and sci-fi. “3D PRINTERS!” “ONE WAY TRIP TO MARS!” “GOOGLE GLASS, I GUESS!”
you can print super-light steel and electronics from a 3D printer and create a flying robotic bird just from stuff you printed. I’ll try to re-find the YouTube link, it’s some company my supervisor knows about.
YOU CAN PRINT SELF-ASSEMBLY ROBOT BIRDS…? IKEA BIRD PRINTER?? I knew you could print things that would assemble into shapes on their own and stuff, but gosh darn if being able to print your own robot bird kit isn’t the best use for a printer I’ve ever heard
I KNOW RIGHT?!!! madecunningly sent me an article about the 3D food printer grant while I was at work, and I sat at my desk going “replicator?? REPLICATOR”
WE’RE SO CLOSE TO SOMEBODY GOING ON A TREK THROUGH THE STARS…….
Nasa made a 3D printer that makes food and my mind is blown

food… printer…??
